- How do we get to the start point of the tour?
We will meet at the Split city center, gather up in transportations and drive about 30 minutes to Omiš where the climbing area is located. If you have your own transportation you can come directly to the Omiš climbing area
If you need transfer:
Split – Trg Republike (Prokurative) – 43°30’31.7″N 16°26’10.7″E
If you will be coming directly with your car:
Omiš – Climbing Area – 43°26’51.8″N 16°41’41.6″E
- What are meeting times?
Departure times are same for a whole season, two different options, morning in shade or afternoon sunset tour.
Split Omiš
01.04 – 31.10– 08:00am 01.04 – 31.10 – 08:30am
Sunset tour (vary from 16:00 to 18:00).
You will be informed of exact afternoon time.
- Is previous experience necessary for this tour?
No, you don’t need any previous experience for this tour. Your guide will inform you and give you all safety advices you need.
- What is the minimum age for Via Ferrata?
The minimum age for Via Ferrata tour is 12 years old. Iris adventures staff holds the right not to allow customers to participate the tour if they think he or she is not able to do the activity in a safe way.
- What fitness level is required for Via Ferrata tour?
Some basic fitness level is enough for participation on Via Ferrata tour. From level 1-5, it would be 3
- What are the daily temperatures?
Day temperatures vary from 20°C to 30°C (68F – 86F) in preseason period to 30-37°C (86F- 100F) in late July and August.
- Are there very exposed places on Via Ferrata tour?
Yes, there are some quite exposed places on the line – all the difficult places are equipped with steel steps. You are attached to the wire all the way from start to finish of Via Ferrata.
- What do I need to bring with me?
You should wear comfy clothes, preferable pants that cover knees, sports trainers, snacks and water at least 1l per person.
- Are meals or drinks included?
No, meals or drinks are not included during or after the Via Ferrata tour. We suggest participants take a good meal before the tour or bring some snacks for after the activity.
- Is alcohol or narcotics allowed?
It’s strictly forbidden to use any kind of alcoholic drinks or usage of narcotics before or during the canyoning tour! Participants that are already under the influence of alcohol or narcotics will not be allowed to participate on the tour.
- Medical issues and usage of medication during the tour
If you have any kind of medical condition that we should be aware of, you need to inform our guides about it. You can approach our guides privately and inform them. If you need to use your medication (like asthma inhalers) or pills during the tour, you can take it anytime you need to.
- Are there restrooms on the way?
No, there are no restrooms.
- Can I book a private Via Ferrata tour?
Yes, you can. If you don’t like to be part of the group you can book private tour on demand. Price varies to a number of people and part of the season so it’s best if you contact us on booking@adventurescroatia.net
- Can I book if I’m a solo traveler?
No, a minimum number of people is 2. In some cases you can join a group, so it’s best if you can write to us on booking@adventurescroatia.net to check when we have groups for you to join.
- What happens in the case of rain?
If it is just a small rain we operate Via Ferrata tours regularly. In the case of heavy rains or thunderstorms, we will cancel the tour for safety reasons and you will get full money refund.
- How do I pay for the tour?
If you booked through our webpage or other providers you can just bring your voucher with you and give it to the guides at the beginning of the tour.
If you are paying in cash you can pay to our guides after the tour. Make sure to take the correct amount of money, but there is ATM machine at the meeting point in Split so you can withdraw money from there.
